Memorial Garden

The Memorial Garden at The Firs Cattery started out as a small area where Nicola could put some of her treasured roses that had some of her pet’s ashes in.  During the first several months of being here there were some upsetting times as cats that Nicola had cared for had passed away whilst back in their loving homes.  It was then that Nicola decided to make a feature of the memorial garden.  After planning, lugging railway sleepers around and shovelling mounds of slate, The Memorial Garden was official.

There are decorated stones by specific plants with the cat’s names on.  These remind us of all the beautiful cats that are no longer with us.  We like to tell the owners that we have done this as we hope it will help them remember the good times that their treasured feline companion had while holidaying with us.

If at any time a customer would like a special plant in memory of their cat, please let Nicola know.

The Memorial Garden is also a lovely quiet place to sit and ponder.
