The pet shop was launched as ‘The Cottage Pet Shop’ at the beginning of December 2019 and is part of The Firs Cattery. Due to the arrival of the handsome boy pictured here, (and because he spends so much time in there!), In 2022 it was only right to relaunch the shop as Paddy’s Pet Shop.
Paddy likes to sit on the desk and look out of the window ready to greet his customers!
Paddy’s Pet Shop is a relatively small pet shop catering for a range of pets including cats, dogs, birds and small animals. We have an extensive range of cat food and treats. We also stock various treats, bowls, toys, beds, bowls and cat litter.
We try and keep our prices as competitive as we can.
We also have a gift section in the shop where you can find collectable treasures such as Highbank Porcelain and Blythe Collectibles. We also have a few pieces of Zampiva Figurines, which have unique characteristics, made in Italy and not found generally in shops. They are reasonably priced considering how collectable they are, when they are gone, they are gone! The only stock we have is what is in the Shop. Other items include mugs, keyrings etc.
We also stock handmade work from local people such as Fused Glass hanging pieces, ideal as a Christmas gift and beautiful decorative bottles with LED lights in, an ideal gift!
We have beautiful handmade Sparkly cats. We have limited stock and once they are gone they are gone! Each one is unique in decoration and there are a variety of different colours and coat markings. Spoil yourself or someone who you care about!

Paddy’s Pet Shop is open at the same time as the Cattery but if you needed something just ring the bell at the gate and we will help if possible.
The Pamper Room, is a quiet, relaxing space in which your cat can have a pampering and grooming session. This could include the following:
Cat Grooming – A full cat groom will depend on what your cat needs doing and other factors to consider. When your cat is being groomed, they will be the only cat in the Pamper Room to ensure a stress free environment. Cat grooming is based around what your cat will tolerate and allow me to do, cats are never forced into having grooms, I will always go at their pace.
My pricing for cat pampering sessions are based at a minimum charge as there are many factors which determine how much work and time that it will take to groom them. The price of the groom will always be agreed before I start, unless issues arise while doing the groom, but I will always try to contact you, if I feel the price may be higher. I am unable to give an exact price over the phone, message or email, as I will need to assess each cat’s condition individually. These factors include but are not limited to: size/breed of your cat, coat condition, thickness and length of the coat and cat’s behaviour.
A full cat groom consists of the following:
- Consultation before grooming
- Full comb and brush out
- Matt removal – depending how severe, for the welfare of the cat, they may be clipped off
- Dry foam bath with specialist cat shampoo
- Eyes and ears cleaned
- Coat Conditioning treatment if required
- Nail clip is included in a full groom
Hygiene Clip – this is a relatively quick shave/cut of the hair around the cat’s private areas, the inside of the back legs and the lower tummy, to help owners to keep their cats fur cleaner and easy to maintain. The cats find it much easier too, particularly long haired cats. This starts from £15.

Pamper Spa Package – why not treat your feline friend to a little pamper session. This Package includes one on one time in a softly lit environment, covered in a warm towel which will relax your cat and bring the shine out on your cat’s coat. Then they will have a gentle head and paw massage, finished off with a paw balm, leaving their pads lovely and soft. You can have just this treatment or you can add it on to any of the grooming services we offer for £10
